A popular badge has returned with the reveal of the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Wolfsburg, a special-edition model set to farewell the seven-seat ‘large’ SUV.
The Wolfsburg moniker first appeared in 2015 on the Golf R and it returns after a three-year break, having last adorned the Touareg 210TDI and V8 TDI.
It’s a last-hurrah for the Tiguan Allspace before it’s replaced by the all-new new VW Tayron, which will launch in Australia next year alongside the all-new five-seat Tiguan mid-size SUV.
Priced at $63,990 plus on-road costs, the Allspace Wolfsburg sits atop the Tiguan range but around $10,000 below the performance Tiguan R flagship ($73,790 plus ORCs).
It’s powered by the same 162kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and all-wheel drive powertrain as seen in other from other Tiguan 162TSI variants, but adds a range of standard kit to justify the increased price.
Now included are black 20-inch Suzuka alloy wheels, black roof rails and wing mirrors, rear privacy glass, the Sound and Vision package (premium Harman/Kardon stereo and surround-view camera), tyre pressure monitoring and Wolfsburg badging.
Three exterior paint colours are standard – black, grey and silver – with pearl white attracting a $900 surcharge. The only other option is a panoramic sunroof for $2100.
In total, 1000 examples of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Wolfsburg will be made available in Australia, where orders are now open and first deliveries are expected from October 2024.
