2024 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line discounted

Volkswagen Australia has secured close to 1500 examples of both its best-selling VW Tiguan R-Line and the corresponding VW Tiguan Allspace R-Line seven-seat SUV, with the combined 3000 units now on their way from Europe.

The penultimate five-seat Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line has typically proven the most popular member of the German brand’s mid-size SUV model range and was one of a number of Tiguan variants that had their order books closed last year due to supply bottlenecks.

With that now remedied and vehicles now flowing freely from the factory, Volkswagen Australia is offering a $2000 factory bonus on the luxurious five-seater until June 30.

“This one of the few instances in the current Tiguan five-seater’s life cycle that we have had sufficient supply of the top variant, which, when available has of itself made up 50 per cent of Tiguan sales,” said Volkswagen Australia passenger vehicles director Michal Szaniecki.

“We’re seeing that our customers continue to gravitate toward our higher end, fully specified variants, perceiving not only the desirability of these, but their value too.”

The promo doesn’t apply to the equivalent seven-seat 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line, but the entire Allspace portfolio had its prices trimmed last month and is now on par with the equivalent five-seater in a bid to help sales bubbling along and provide consumers with more variety at any given price point.

The price parity comes as the current Tiguan approaches the end of its lifecycle, with roughly 12 months left in the Australia market before it’s replaced by the third-generation mid-size SUV.

This will briefly leave the old Allspace on its own before it’s phased out and replaced by the all-new Volkswagen Tayron by mid-2025.
