Volvo Car Australia has introduced a pair of special Dark Edition models for its 2024 Volvo XC60 SUV and Volvo S60 sedan model lines, which begin arriving in showrooms next month.
Priced from $103,990 and $88,990 plus on-road costs respectively, the 2024 Volvo XC60 Dark Edition and 2024 Volvo S60 Dark Edition are flagship 4WD models with a T8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain that’s already seen in the XC60 SUV range but is a fresh addition to the S60 sedan.
THE PHEV system pairs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and an 18.8kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering combined outputs of 311kW/670Nm.
Acceleration from 0-100km/h in the XC60 takes a claimed 4.8 seconds, while the S60 hits the highway limit in just 4.5sec.
It’s a similar story with fuel economy, the XC60 sipping a claimed 1.6L/100km while the slipperier S60 uses just 1.4L/100km.
Living up to their nameplates, both Dark Editions don an exclusive high gloss ‘Onyx Black’ exterior, grille and badging, black window trims and unique black alloys (21-inch on XC60, 19” on S60).
The Darth Vader vibes carry over to the interior of both cars, where black elements include the headlining and front seat trim, the latter combining Nappa leather with leatherette and textile upholstery.
It also sets up a striking contrast with the mesh aluminium decor and crystal gear selector.
Standard equipment highlights on both include a 12.3-inch infotainment interface with Google Built-in, a panoramic sunroof, Bowers and Wilkins sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, head-up display, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, park assist and intelligent driver information system.
The XC60 also features air suspension as standard.
