The 2024 Zeekr X has undercut its Volvo EX30 sibling on price to start from $56,900 plus on-road costs, with just two versions being offered Down Under from launch.
That opening figure applies to the entry-level RWD and swells to $64,900 plus on-roads when referring to the dual-motor AWD on account of its extra toys and performance.
Both versions are sustained by a 66kWh battery pack – good for up to 540km and 470km respectively on the ADR cycle – that can be recharged at up to 150kW when using DC power, something that’ll take it from 10-80 per cent in about half an hour.
A full 0-100 per cent charge from a 7kW wall box takes a claimed 11hr 30min.
The RWD features a 200kW/343Nm electric motor on its rear axle capable of launching it from 0-100km/h in a nippy 5.6 seconds whereas the dual-motor AWD packs 315kW/543Nm and stops the clock in just 3.8 seconds.
An added bonus of the AWD’s powertrain is its ability to be recharged at up to 11kW on AC power, slashing four hours off its empty to full charging time.
Standard equipment highlights on the RWD include 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment system playing through a seven-speaker sound system, smartphone mirroring, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers and dual-zone climate control.
A ‘Convenience’ package will be optionally available and adds six-way powered seat adjustment for the passenger, memory function for the driver, heating and cooled function for both, a heated steering wheel, 13-Speaker Yamaha surround sound system and ambient lighting.
The AWD builds on the RWD’s standard kit with bigger 20-inch hoops, a 24.3-inch head-up display, an intelligent B-pillar display and the contents of the Convenience package.
Headline safety gear on both variants includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, digital video recorder, driver performance support, evasive manoeuvre assist, forward collision warning, forward collision mitigation, front cross traffic assist, lane departure warning and keeping assist, parking emergency brake, rear collision warning and rear cross traffic assist.
Customers will be able to choose from Mist Grey, Crystal White, Palace Beige, Grid Grey and Pine Green for the exterior and Charcoal/Stone Grey, Midnight Blue/Polar White or Mulberry/Rose for the cabin.
Included in the asking prices are a five-year/unlimited-kilometre factory warranty, eight-year/160,000km battery warranty, five years roadside assist and a five-year connected services subscription.
Those who purchase their new X before October 31 will also receive a 12-month charging subscription and a complimentary 7kW home charger.
