The 2025 GMC Yukon Denali will start from $169,990 plus on-road costs when it arrives in the second quarter of next year.
As previously reported, the loaded Denali is the only Yukon variant being imported to Australia for the time being and comes exclusively with a 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine under the bonnet.
Outputs are rated at 313kW/624Nm and harnessed by a 10-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels all of the time via a two-speed transfer case – it can also run in 4x2.
Boosting traction off-road is GM’s ‘Active Response 4WD System’ – GM’s take on terrain response tech – along with a lockable centre differential and electronic limited-slip rear differential.
Adaptive air suspension ensures a comfortable ride in all conditions.
Measuring 5338mm long, 2058mm wide, 1941mm tall and riding on a generous wheelbase of 3071mm, the Yukon is significantly bigger than the latest LandCruiser 300 Series which frees up significantly more interior space, so much so there’s room for an extra seat (eight total).
Maximum cargo volume is rated at 3480 litres of space with all rear seats folded flat, however GMSV doesn’t mention how much room there is to stow bags behind the third row.
The front seats meantime are both heated and ventilated while the outer rears only score heating.
As for tech, you’re not left wanting. The small 11-inch digital instrument cluster is supplemented with a big 15-inch head-up display, while there’s a huge 16.8-inch infotainment screen that supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, playing through a powerful 14-speaker Bose sound system.
In the second row there’s a pair of 12.6-inch HD LCD screens to curb the moaning on a long-haul drive.
Bathing the cabin in light is a panoramic dual-pane sunroof that tilts, opens and features a powered sunblind. There’s also tri-zone climate control, wireless smartphone chargers, adaptive cruise, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot alert and rear-cross traffic alert.
Capable of towing more than 3500kg (braked), a useful trailer side blind-spot alert, trailer sway control, hitch guidance and hitch view are all standard.
Outside, the recently updated Yukon Denali comes with LED headlights and tail-lamps, retracting side steps, a gesture-control electric tailgate, acoustic laminated glass, rear tint and enormous 24-inch alloy wheels shod with all-terrain rubber.
GMSV says if you order now, your new Yukon should land in the beginning of the second quarter of 2025.
