2025 GMC Yukon teased ahead of Australian release

Facelifted full-size off-road SUV teased in tough AT4 form

General Motors has teased an upcoming facelift for its upcoming 2025 GMC Yukon – the full-size off-road SUV set to arrive Down Under early next year.

GM’s Australian division, GMSV, has already confirmed the locally-converted right-hand drive Yukon will be released here in luxurious Denali form in 2025 – as a left-field alternative to the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series and Nissan Patrol – and development vehicles are already here testing.

The two prototypes have both been confirmed as heavily camouflaged facelifted models, which will be revealed mid-year following the upcoming US launch of the new-generation Acadia.

Today’s preview gives us our first official look at the upgraded GMC Yukon, even if the version teased here is the more rugged AT4 version.

The single image is a close-up of the new Yukon AT4’s front right corner, revealing an all-new headlight assembly, more chiselled body lines and new grille texture, although the latter is likely to vary between grades.

No details of the new model beyond its primary cosmetic updates have been announced yet, but odds are there’ll be next to no changes made to the Yukon’s 313kW/623Nm 6.2-litre V8 or its 10-speed automatic transmission.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali

“2024 marks the fifth anniversary for GMC’s popular AT4 trim,” GM said.

“This year also marks the 25th anniversary of GMC’s Denali sub-brand, which first debuted on the 1999 Yukon Denali concept.”

Local pricing for the Yukon is expected to start somewhere around the $150,000 mark by the time the vehicles are imported and remanufactured by Walkinshaw Automotive.
