2025 GWM Haval H6 GT PHEV available from $51k

GWM Australia is on a mission to ensure its first plug-in hybrid offering, the 2025 GWM Haval H6 GT PHEV, makes a splash, with up to $6000 already being taken off the asking price.

Primed and ready to launch from $55,990 drive-away later this quarter, GWM today announced it would be dropping that figure down to $53,990 and bundling in a complimentary 7kW home charger (excluding fitment costs) for all H6 GT PHEV sales contracts signed by March 31.

Another three-grand will be taken off the total if the customer is trading in an existing GWM vehicle, or a further $1000 loyalty bonus if you add another GWM product to your garage.

If the stars align, the H6 GT PHEV will effectively cost $50,990 drive-away, making it the cheapest plug-in hybrid on the market as well as arguably the most capable.

The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol-electric powertrain outputs a combined 342kW/762Nm and will launch from 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.9 seconds, however it’s the electric range that sets the cat amongst the pigeons – up to 180km courtesy of a 35.4kWh battery.

GWM Australia said it was looking encourage consumers to consider the shift to new energy vehicles while doing its best to mitigate the typically high pricing and lacking infrastructure associated with electrified vehicles.

Rivals for the H6 GT PHEV will primarily include the BYD Sealion 6 Premium and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Exceed grade upwards).
