2025 Jeep Wrangler range slashed in multiple ways

Jeep has taken a knife to its local Wrangler portfolio and gutted it down to just two variants for the 2025 model year, the variants in question being the all-conquering Rubicon duo.

No explicit explanation has been given for the gutting, but a reasonable starting point would be the fact Wrangler sales are down more than 46 per year-on-year as of June 30.

Regardless, the line-up now opens from $79,990 plus on-road costs for the ‘entry-level’ Rubicon 2DR and tops out at $82,990 for the halo 4DR, the latter being discounted almost $7500 compared to its 2024 predecessor.

The 2DR is $3960 cheaper than before, however the base Sport S’ and mid-range Overland’s axing means the 2025 Jeep Wrangler range now starts $4040 upstream of last year’s version.

So what’s changed for 2025? Nothing beyond some new colours.

The Wrangler Rubicon is still powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (200kW/400Nm) and drives all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case.

Headline equipment still comprises a premium wrapped dash panel, forward-facing trail camera, Nappa leather upholstery, acoustic laminated front door glass, a heavy-duty DANA 44 full-float rear axle, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and removeable roof panels.

Available colours include Bright White (standard), Black, Granite Crystal, Firecracker Red, Hydro Blue, Anvil, 41 (new) and Mojito (new).
