Jeep has released pictures and details of seven new concepts it has unwrapped at this year’s annual Easter Jeep Safari, which got underway on April 12.
This year marks the 59th time the annual Jeep fan fest has been held in Moab, Utah, and sees the US off-roading brand show off its latest Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) that have been developed by Stellantis’ parts division, Mopar.
All the concepts are driveable but missing in action is any modified version of the 4x4 brand’s latest Wagoneer S and its inbound and more rugged Recon.
Beginning with the Jeep Rewind Concept, the first show car that the US brand has created for this year’s Safari looks like it draws inspiration from a late 1980s shell suit.
Painted purple with pink Rewind graphics and pink and turquoise bonnet stripes, the Jeep Wrangler shorty rides on custom 17-inch ‘telephone dial’ alloy wheels.
The Jeep Bug Out 4xe Concept, meanwhile, is based on the Gladiator and is said to be inspired by those overlanders who need minimal kit to spend a night under the stars.
Wearing a special matte silver paint, with yellow accents around the grille plus tow hooks and front and rear fenders, the two-door Gladiator gets a four-inch (102mm) lift, custom half doors and rear bodywork that incorporates auxiliary power packs.
The tough Jeep ute sports steel front and rear bumpers and a hard roof supported by four lattice-like pillars, but it has no windows.
Final updates include 37-inch all-terrain tyres and a bed-liner that includes mounting points for a hammock.
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon Sunchaser Concept is yet another build targeting the overlanding community.
Featuring black side panniers at the rear, the Sunchaser also features a rear roof rack and a bright pivoting LED light bar, plus another high-lift kit and large 37-inch all-terrain tyres.
Inside are two-tone leather seats and a cabin that doesn’t skimp on luxuries.
The Jeep Convoy Concept is by far the coolest retro Jeep of the bunch and is said to be inspired by a 1963 Gladiator SJ, which explains its slanted snout and classic seven-slot grille.
Painted in ‘Ghost Ops’ paint, the 2025 Gladiator Mojave-based truck gets brown canvas doors and canopy, plus neat 17-inch black Warn steel rims that are wrapped by huge 40-inch tyres, while its winch is rated to tow up to 12,000lb (5443kg).
The Jeep Wrangler 4x4 Blueprint is among the most colourful of the seven Jeep concepts and is said to be a rolling catalogue for the firm’s dealer accessories. It’s bristling with more than 35 off-the-shelf items, while its black and Mopar Blue paint means it’s unlikely you’ll ever lose it in a car park.
The list of modifications includes a two-inch (51mm) high-lift kit, high-top fenders, steel bumpers front and rear, tube doors, a snorkel air intake and Mopar Blue alloy wheels, among others.
Jeep's J6 Honcho Concept teases us with a two-door Gladiator. In fact, it started life as a dual cab before designers and engineers created a new body that banished the rear seats to create a generous six-foot bed.
Custom parts include the rear sport bar, spare wheel carrier, four-element light bar and bespoke three-piece front bar that includes yet more bright LEDs.
The final concept, dubbed the Gladiator High Top Honcho Concept, is said to be a reboot of the High Top concept shown off last year.
Carrying over its flat steel top fenders, Dana 60 axles and AccuAir suspension, for this year’s fan fest the Gladiator Rubicon-based show car gets a fresh ’70s-inspired paint job with matching hard top, white steel rims and large 40-inch rubber, plus a sport bar that extends rearward to protect the bed.
Commenting on the concepts, Jeep’s new CEO Bob Broderdorf said: “The custom Jeep and JPP concepts we’ll unveil this year, along with unique immersive experiences, will once again demonstrate the Jeep brand’s unmatched off-road capability and underscore what it means to drive a Jeep.”
The 2025 Easter Jeep Safari runs from April 12 through to April 20.
