Fresh off the back of yesterday’s Musso electric vehicle (EV) announcement, KGM Australia has launched the 2025 Torres from $45,000 drive-away in the hope of securing a slice of the increasingly lucrative hybrid SUV pie.

Intended as a Korean antagonist for the GWM Haval H6 Hybrid and MG HS Hybrid+, the Torres Hybrid sits at the bigger end of its class with just two versions available.
The base K30’s equipment list is headlined by adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, dual 12.3-inch displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth seat upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and ambient interior lighting.

Safety highlights comprise of eight airbags, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist and departure warning, forward collision warning, safety distance alert, driver attention alert, multi-collision braking, trailer stability assist, and parking sensors all-round.
The better-equipped K40 builds on this with a powered tailgate, 20-inch alloys, faux leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, rear sunblinds, rear cross traffic warning, blind spot warning, and lane change-collision warning.

The Torres Hybrid outputting a combined 150kW. All of that is sent to the front wheels by an ‘e-DHT’ transmission, and both ride on new ‘smart frequency damping’ shock absorbers.
Both variants are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid system.
KGM Australia has nominated a combined fuel consumption of 5.6L/100km on the Australian Design Rules (ADR) cycle.
The 2025 KGM Torres Hybrid will enter showrooms in the coming weeks ready for its December 1 release and covered by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty as per the internal combustion versions; however the hybrid battery is only covered for seven years/150,000km.
