The long-awaited 2025 Kia K4 hatch has finally arrived on Aussie soil mirroring the established sedan on both price and almost certainly equipment – Kia is yet to announce the full specification details.

Doubling the K4 variant count from five to 10 – with more to come – the hatch’s arrival also heralds the introduction of a cleaner and more efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder powertrain to the S, Sport and Sport+ variants.
Without getting too nerdy, the new Atkinson cycle mill is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and develops 110kW/180Nm – the old Otto cycle engine was good for 112kW/192Nm and operated through a six-speed automatic.
The upgrade has added $1500 to the K4’s asking price, but no changes have been made to the GT-Line’s 1.6-litre turbo-petrol or its eight-speed automatic – hence its smaller $800 price increase.

Kia will almost certainly introduce a 1.6-litre hybrid system – as seen in the related Hyundai i30 Sedan and Kona – for the K4 next year, albeit at a greater cost to consumers.
This article on carsales will be updated with complete MY26 K4 specifications when announced by the brand in the coming weeks.
