The 2025 Kia Sportage has been teased ahead of its Australian launch in the second quarter of next year, previewing its redesigned front and rea aprons.
Locked in for a November debut, the new Sportage is being brought into line with the rest of Kia’s latest products – facelifted Sorento, Carnival and Picanto – with vertically-stacked headlights, sharper LED daytime running lamps, revised grille and tweaked tail-light graphics.
The it also bags revised bumpers, redesigned alloy wheels and is primed for a dashboard, centre console and steering wheel overhaul at the very least.
Kia is yet to reveal what will power the new Sportage, but it’s tipped to retain its current array of petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains while Australia should remain privy to the popular turbo-diesel system.
It’s also thought the turbocharged 1.6-litre plug-in hybrid that's offered in other markets might be imported to Australia for the first time.
Already spotted testing, Kia will once again offer a short-wheelbase (Europe) and a longer-wheel base version, the latter of which currently offered in Australia, Korea and North America – once again, it’s expected we'll miss out on the shortie.
The Sportage remains Kia’s best-selling mode in Australia with the Korean brand selling an impressive 16,095 in the first nine months of 2024.
At least one other teaser is expected to be released the build-up to the 2025 Kia Sportage’s global debut on November 22 at the 2024 Los Angeles Motor Show.
