UPDATE 12/12/2024, 12.20pm: The 2025 Lexus LBX Morizo RR will arrive Down Under in the first half of next year priced from $76,490 plus on-road costs, however it seems Australia is only being made privy to the eight-speed automatic rather than the six-speed manual.
Full details of the Aussie vehicles and an explanation as to why we’re missing out on the three-pedal set-up will be provided closer to the model’s launch next year, though we do know a two-tone colour scheme will be available for an extra $1750.

To the surprise of nobody, the Lexus LBX Morizo RR concept has been confirmed for production and release in Australia.
Due to arrive Down Under in the first half of next year, the production-spec 2025 Lexus LBX Morizo RR is described by its creators as “a high-performance, limited volume version” of the Japanese premium brands smallest SUV, but it can also be viewed as a high-riding luxury version of the Toyota GR Yaris hot hatch.
As per the concept, the showroom-ready LBX Morizo RR is powered by a 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine outputting 206kW/390Nm and driving all four wheels via either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
Its claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time is 5.2 seconds and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential will be optionally available for those wanting even sharper dynamics from the standard AWD and sports suspension systems.
The whole package sits 10mm lower to the ground than the standard LBX and rolls on sexy 19-inch forged wheels shod with sticky 235/45-profile tyres.
Braking duties are handled by four-piston front callipers and single-pot floating rear units, clamping ventilated 356x28mm and solid 281x12mm rear rotors respectively.
Cosmetic enhancements extend to a unique body kit, exclusive front and rear bumpers, front canards, dual exhaust outlets and the aforementioned rolling stock, while the interior has been overhauled with sports front seats, red stitching and alloy pedals.
Standard equipment highlights will include quilted leather upholstery, a configurable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, sports steering wheel, rev-matching and an active sound control system.
“The LBX Morizo RR is a game-changer for Lexus in so far that it encapsulates the exhilarating to drive qualities of the LFA supercar into an everyday compact luxury car,” said Lexus Australia boss John Pappas.
“It shows our passion for cars and builds excitement around our brand.
“The LBX has been very well received since its launch, with the limited volume LBX Morizo RR set to entice customers wanting maximum thrills along with Lexus refinement and luxury.”
Final specification details and local pricing will be announced closer to the model’s launch next year.
