The 2025 MG Majestor three-row SUV has been unwrapped in India as a potential rival for the latest Ford Everest and aging Toyota Fortuner.
Revealed at the Bharat Mobility Exp, the MG Majestor is a ladder-frame SUV that’s been created to replace the MG Gloster that’s been on sale for a while now in India, though the Gloster itself is a rebadged version of the familiar LDV D90.
Claimed to be the tallest, longest and widest in its class, the Majestor gets a far more aggressive and boxier look, with its face dominated by a large grille, split LED lamps and an imposing new bash-plate.
The tailgate is connected by a full-width LED light bar, new bash plate and dual tailpipes.
MG has yet to release pics of the cabin, but we expect the Majestor to come with twin 12.3-inch screens and will bag heated and ventilated massaging seats, three-zone climate control, a 12-speaker sound system, a large panoramic roof and Level 2 adaptive cruise control – as per the latest D90, with the same true of the powertrain.
Under the bonnet, the Majestor is said to be powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel that will produce 160kW/480Nm, hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
On sale in India later this year, there’s no word if there are any plans to export the new MG to Australia, but it’s been tipped the seven-seat ladder-frame SUV will be priced from Rs 40-45 lakh ($A75,000).
