The 2025 Nissan QASHQAI has been given a dramatic overhaul as part of the small SUV’s midlife update, brandishing bold new exterior styling and a major tech upgrade.
Due to launch in Australia before the end of this year, the facelifted Nissan QASHQAI is distinguished by a new grille with a redesigned daytime running light (DRL) signature and cleverly hidden headlight clusters.
The headlights are positioned in the deepest crevasse of the new grille arrangement, masked by the now-staggered lower portion of the DRLs.
Designers say they were looking to give the QASHQAI a “more striking first impression” and sportier disposition, which they’ve certainly achieved, with the new ensemble underscored by an all-new front bumper.
Changes are far less drastic at the rear-end, where a resculpted bumper and new tail-lights mimicking the front DRL signature are found.
Refreshed alloy wheel designs round out the major exterior changes, while the interior features new Alcantara inserts on the dash, centre console, door trims and arm rests on higher-grade models, and new trim patterns across the range.
A new N-Design model grade adds sportier seats to the mix, too.
Tech upgrades include a new-generation 360-degree camera with 3D graphics, invisible hood mode and parking spot location memory, crisper graphics for the digital instrument cluster, and the addition of Google Built-in and a driver assist custom mode.
The autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system has also been recalibrated and the emergency lane keep system now defaults on.
No mechanical changes have been made to the facelifted QASHQAI, which in Europe includes a 117kW/270Nm mild-hybrid version of the 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine sold in Australia.
An e-POWER hybrid powertrain also continues, combining an electric motor with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol to produce 140kW/330Nm.
It’s unclear at this stage if the mild-hybrid 1.3-litre turbo will come to Australia or if we’ll continue with the lower-output 110kW/250Nm version alongside the e-POWER.
