2025 Peugeot 3008: Full Australian details

New-generation medium SUV switches to electrified powertrains and will be offered in just two trims

Full details and pricing for the new 2024 Peugeot 3008 line-up have been announced ahead of its release early next year, revealing the mid-sized SUV will be offered with a new mild-hybrid powertrain in place of the previous version’s petrol and plug-in hybrid systems.

When it arrives, the new 3008 will be offered in Allure Hybrid and GT Premium Hybrid guises, with a mid-range GT Hybrid variant set to be introduced later.

The bad news is prices have risen by $2915 for the cheapest versions, which now starts from $52,990 plus on-road costs whereas the GT Premium Hybrid opens at $64,990, representing a $1600 bump.

An all-electric E-3008 was also set to star in the line-up, but that car has now been delayed until next year sometime following Peugeot Australia’s radical product rethink.

Until then, all mild hybrid 3008s come with a new turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder mild-hybrid engine said to use just 4.9L/100km on the combined cycle, down from between 5.6-7.3L/returned by the old 1.6-litre turbo.

The flipside is the new engine can only muster 100kW/230Nm – a big drop compared to the old unit’s peak numbers of 133kW/250Nm.

A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends the engine’s power to the front wheels and houses the 48V e-motor which can supposedly drive the front wheels by itself, albeit not for very long.

Equipment levels are high, with even the base Allure coming with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, a huge 21-inch curved screen (that incorporates both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment within it), wireless phone charging and dual-zone climate control.

Spec details are yet to be announced for the mid-spec GT Hybrid, but it’s set to boast LED headlamps, a premium sound system, a black roof and sporty rear tailgate spoiler at the very least.

The flagship GT Premium GT Hybrid meantime gets Nappa leather, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and heated rear seats.

How much does the 2024 Peugeot 3008 cost?
Allure Hybrid – $52,990 (+$2915)
GT Hybrid – $TBC
GT Premium Hybrid – $64,990 (+$1600)
* Prices exclude on-road costs.
