2025 Subaru Outback AWD Sport Touring XT limited edition arrives
New range-topping special gets fancy new look and water-repellent seatsSubaru Australia has announced a new flagship special edition large SUV based on its popular 2025 Subaru Outback wagon.
Named the Subaru Outback Sport Touring XT, the new range-topping wagon gets some of the Sport styling features and costs just $500 more than the turbocharged petrol Outback Touring XT it's based on, with prices starting at $57,490 plus on-road costs.
Subaru hasn't revealed how many of the new Subaru Outback Sport Touring XT limited editions it will make, but the new model gets Geyser Blue paint that's combined with green exterior trim and black rear badging, dark metallic 18-inch alloy wheels, black water repellent seats and a black rear spoiler and trim garnish.
Included in the price is an 11.6-inch infotainment system, electric sunroof, navigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, LED headlights and Subaru's latest EyeSight driver assist safety tech.
Like the existing Outback XT, the Sport Touring XT carries over the standard car's 2.4-litre flat-four-cylinder engine that produces 183kW and 350Nm of torque.
Both all-wheel drive and a CVT automatic transmission is standard.
"This special edition is all about celebrating the adventurous spirit that defines the Subaru Outback. It offers a fresh, dynamic look while continuing to deliver the reliability and performance that Subaru drivers have come to expect," said Subaru Australia GM Scott Lawrence.
In the first six months of 2024 Subaru Australia managed to shift 6643 Outbacks with overall volumes down 5.4 per cent on 2023.
The Outback is currently Australia’s third top-selling large SUV behind the Ford Everest (13,438 sales) and Isuzu MU-X (11,535).
Set to boost the Outback's fortunes Down Under is the arrival of the facelifted version that's already on sale in North America.
Subaru Australia hasn't announced when the updated 2025 Subaru Outback will land but when it does, the revised line-up will be spearheaded by a new more rugged Wilderness version.
