2026 Aston Martin Valkyrie LM storms in

The 2026 Aston Martin Valkyrie LM has been unleashed, with the British brand announcing it will produce just 10 examples of its track-only hypercar that is almost identical to the race car that will fight for outright victory at this weekend’s Le Mans 24 Hour.

Following on from the hard-core Valkyrie AMR Pro, the latest Aston Martin Valkyrie LM benefits from the exhaustive wind testing that the competition-spec Valkyrie underwent, with the limited-run Aston featuring the same body that allows it to pull an incredible 3.5g of lateral acceleration and 2.5g under braking.

Like the racer, the Valkyrie LM is powered by a Cosworth-developed 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 mated to a seven-speed sequential transmission, but has had its power detuned from a heady 865kW to the FIA LMH (Le Mans Hypercar) mandated 520kW.

The less powerful modified V12 might lack power but it has been modified to run a higher air-to-fuel ratio for a more efficient lean burn, helping it match the efficiency of the hybrid hypercars that run in the LMDh (Le Mans Daytona h) category.

No performance figures have been released, but the British brand has confirmed the LM has a kerb weight of just 1030kg, hinting at explosive acceleration. Top speed, meanwhile, is limited to 338km/h.

The differences over the racer include eliminating all the electric systems required by the FIA to go racing, plus the removal of ballast weights used to make the racing competitive under the BoP (Balance of Performance) rules.

Inside, the Valkyrie LM features a single carbon-fibre seat with an FIA-approved six-point harness and an F1-style steering wheel complete with shift lights. There’s also an onboard fire suppression system.

Features designed for the endurance racer that are offered on the LM special include a long-range fuel tank and a redesigned double-front and rear suspension.

All Valkyrie LMs also ride on bespoke Pirelli slick tyres and come with competition-ready carbon-ceramic brakes.

Announcing that the first car will be delivered in Q2 of 2026, Aston Martin has not released pricing for the Valkyrie LM but said each owner will be treated to dedicated track sessions held at the Silverstone race circuit as well as other F1 tracks, with each buyer offered the option of earning a race licence.

A final bonus for the 10 lucky (and extremely wealthy) buyers is Aston Martin has agreed to throw in a free helmet, HANS device, driver’s suit and boots, moulded earpieces, driver’s gloves and fireproof underpants.

“A group who can immerse themselves in the purest and most comparable endurance driving experience, one that would otherwise only be available to our works drivers operating at the very limit of sportscar racing’s highest echelon.” Aston Martin first raced at the Le Mans 24 Hour back in 1928 and last took outright victory in 1959 with its DBR1 with Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby behind the wheel.
