BMW M clearly has a taste for hot wagons at the moment, because it’s just teased another M3 Touring.
Shown slipping, sliding and scampering its way around a wet and frozen proving ground, the mystery vehicle carries all the hallmarks of a mid-sized CS vehicle – more aero, lightweight wheels, sharper performance – but in a five-door body, strongly pointing to upcoming emergence of a 2026 BMW M3 CS Touring.
The Bavarian performance division has previewed what will be the first five-door CS product three times now, covering everything from its exterior design to its outright performance and capabilities.
The first preview – released on Saturday – was captioned “fast is about to meet faster” and hash-tagged ‘#TheUltimateOneCarSolution’… a phrase that just so happens to feature ‘CS’ in its capitals.
On Sunday came a speed camera-style image snapped at the Nürburgring along with some imitation covert filmography showing the M3 CS lapping the Green Hell in less-than-ideal conditions, albeit with the model’s name conveniently censored.
There’s little doubt as to what the name and therefore the vehicle is, seeing as we can still count the number of characters in said name.
That leads us to this morning’s clip showing the flying five-door doing its thing at a more modest test facility, suggesting the global reveal could only be weeks, if not days away.
Previous M3 and M4 CS products have all been limited-run specials and so we’d expect the same of the M3 CS Touring, along with a healthy 30kW bump in peak power, plenty of carbon-fibre and an arsenal of M Performance upgrades.
At the bottom of this report, you’ll find an itemised list of every upgrade applied to the M3 CS sedan and how it compared with the kit list of the lesser M3 Competition it was based on, but the subtotal of those upgrades amounted to more performance, sharper dynamics and less weight.
Odds are M has followed an identical recipe in making the dog-friendly version, something that will come as pure music to the lucky few-thousand that will be able to afford one.
