The 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty will hit Australian showrooms several months earlier than expected, with customer deliveries starting before the end of the year.
Ford Australia president and CEO Andrew Birkic revealed on LinkedIn that the 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty – a mid-size ute engineered for full-sized capability and vastly superior payload – will arrive in local showrooms by Christmas.
Birkic highlighted the excitement surrounding the tough truck and the significance of applying the ‘Super Duty’ nameplate to a model outside the North America’s F-Series line-up.
Befitting of its name, the Ranger Super Duty boasts a braked towing capacity of 4500kg, a maximum payload of up to 1985kg, a 4500kg GVM and an 8000kg GCM.
Under the bonnet is a retuned turbocharged 3.0-litre ‘Lion’ six-cylinder diesel engine (154kW/600Nm), paired with an upgraded cooling system claimed to be 25 per cent more efficient than the standard Ranger six-cylinder.

“This is more than a new model; it's a solution born from deep listening,” Birkic said on LinkedIn.
“And I’m incredibly proud to announce the Ranger Super Duty is arriving ahead of schedule, with customer deliveries starting later this year.”
Stay tuned – our first drive review of the 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty drops at 6:00am AEDT on November 27 2025.
