2026 GWM Tank 500 Hi4-T PHEV becomes AT-1 with itself

The 2026 Tank Hi4-T PHEV has become the latest GWM model to have its ‘AT-1’ localised suspension and steering tunes come to market, with the rollout bolstered by the addition of new 220-volt vehicle-to-load (V2L) power outlet in the boot.

The Finer Details
Armed with retuned dampers and a new steering calibration, GWM’s flagship off-roader still retails from $79,990 drive-away and will be sold alongside the non-AT-1 version until stocks of the global tune runout – at which point the AT-1 will become the default availability.
The new setup went into production in March which means the first examples are making their way into local showrooms now – checking for the 220V plug in the boot and/or checking the build date will be the easiest way to check which version you’re looking at, short of a test drive.
The Road Ahead
The smaller Tank 300, specifically the just-launched Hi4-T PHEV, is expected to be the next model to gain an AT-1 makeover, followed by the inbound Ora 5 compact electric SUV and likely the combustion 300s.
Odds are the upcoming Tank 500 diesel will launch here with an AT-1 tune from the outset, seeing as the model has been spotted testing numerous times and the new powerplant is intended specifically for Australia.
