GWM Australia has updated its punchy Haval H6GT PHEV with a new all-wheel drive system, refreshed interior and the latest-generation Coffee OS infotainment system.

Bringing it into line with the rest of the updated H6 portfolio, the new H6GT PHEV now features GWM’s ‘Hi4’ hybrid all-wheel drive system that’s said to be more versatile, efficient and refined.
The net result is an even quicker 0-100km/h time of 4.6 seconds (down from 4.9) – despite outputs being trimmed from 342kW/762Nm to 321kW/642Nm – and an improved combined fuel consumption claim of 0.6L/100km (down from 0.8L/100km).
No changes have been made to the 35.4kWh battery pack which provides up to 183km of NEDC electric range.

The 2026 model looks identical to its predecessors, save for the new ‘Hi4’ badge on its tailgate, but the same can’t be said about the interior where you’ll find an all-new dash layout headlined by a latest-generation 14.6-inch infotainment system.
Said to be faster to respond, more intuitive and nicer to look at, the new screen takes pride of place on the dash, squeezing the row of shortcut buttons down to the base of the dash where it joins with the redesigned centre console.
Already in showrooms, the 2026 GWM Haval H6GT Hi4 PHEV hasn’t benefited from the freshly minted ‘AT-1’ localised suspension that’s been applied to the regular H6, but will one day encompass the entire GWM Australia portfolio.
carsales understands the GT’s tune simply isn’t ready yet, with local and factory timelines not quite aligning.
As per the regular H6, the Aussie-calibrated suspension will be applied when it’s ready as a simple production changeover rather than held back for a dedicated model year update or facelift.
How much does the 2026 GWM Haval H6GT cost?
