The 2026 Leapmotor B05 has been priced from $35,888 plus on-road costs and will be offered here in two guises, offering up to 482km of range and 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds.

The Finer Details
Leapmotor has been and will keep making a big fuss about the B05’s Alfa Romeo-tuned chassis that supports a single-motor, rear-drive powertrain outputting 160kW/240Nm.
The motor is mounted on the rear axle and fed by a 56.2kWh battery pack in the Style and a larger 67.1kWh unit in the Design LR, providing respective WLTP ranges of up to 401km and 482km.
Both packs can be charged at up to 174kW on DC power, providing 30-80 per cent top ups in 16 and 18 minutes respectively.
Leapmotor is claiming a 6.7-second 0-100km/h time for the flagship but hasn’t provided a number for the lighter and theoretically quicker base model.
Equipment highlights on the Style include launch control,19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, automatic climate control, over-the-air updates, an 8.8-inch digital cockpit, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sat-nav, a wireless phone charger, NFC and Bluetooth key, connected services and a 360-degree dashcam.
The Design LR builds on this with a fixed panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, TechnoLeather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear centre armrest and cupholders, a 12-speaker surround audio system, rear privacy glass and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Standard safety goodies meantime comprise seven airbags and 21 ADAS features supported by 14 sensors and cameras – think automatic lane change, front vehicle departure warning, front cross traffic assist with braking etc.
The Road Ahead
When the B05 arrives Down Under in late August, it’ll be covered by a six-year/150,000km warranty, with eight years/160,000km coverage for the battery pack.
The standard colour is Lightning Yellow, with Galaxy Silver, Windy Grey, Metallic Black and Starry Night Blue all optional (and adding $990 to the bill).
