Subaru is tooling up unveil its third dedicated EV, having just dropped a singular teaser image previewing a new compact SUV.
Primed for a July 17 debut, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted follows on from the Outback-sized Trailseeker with an adventurous-sounding nameplate and will sit beneath the established Solterra mid-sizer as the new entry point to Subi’s growing EV range.
The teaser image doesn’t show much on face value beyond the obligatory dusty road that’s become synonymous with a Subaru SUV reveal, but a quick zoom and sharpen uncovers a familiar-looking body…
The 2025 Toyota C-HR+ debuted in March with a 600km cruising range and next to nothing in common with the hybrid C-HR with which it shares its name.
With an identical roof, roofline and very similar tailgate, it’s apparent the Uncharted will be a Subaru spin-off of Toyota’s latest EV in much the same way the Solterra and bZ4X are related (identical twins), though there’s little doubt one will lead a more adventurous lifestyle.
Subaru hasn’t announced any details of the Uncharted at all at the time of writing, but it would be safe to assume it will sit on a 2750mm wheelbase, come with all-wheel drive and multiple battery capacities.
All will be revealed next week.
