AIMS: Subaru Liberty B4 GT300
For the first time outside of Japan, Subaru has displayed its GT300-prepared Liberty B4 at the Australian International Motor ShowSubaru is displaying what it calls "the ultimate motorsport Liberty" at this year's Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne, the B4 GT300.
Developed by R&D Sport in Atsugi, Japan, in conjunction with Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru's parent company) and Subaru Technica International (STI) the all-wheel drive Liberty B4 GT300 takes pride of place at the Subaru stand's 'performance corner'.
Impreza WRX and WRX STI models will also be among the performance Subarus on display.
When not being displayed, the fire-breathing Liberty is piloted by three-time GT300 champion and 1992 All Japan Gymkhana winner, Tetsuya Yamano.
"This is one of the meanest looking Subaru motorsport cars ever produced," said Subaru Australia's managing director, Nick Senior.
"It'll certainly turn heads in our 'performance corner' on the stand, where the fun factor will also include a WRX STI driving simulator, in which enthusiasts can try their luck on a 'virtual' Nurburgring, one of the world's most challenging race circuits."
