All-new 2023 BMW M2 leaked in full

Second-generation BMW M2 fully exposed online ahead of October debut; will bring even more power

The new 2023 BMW M2 Coupe has been leaked in full online ahead of the junior M car’s official world debut next month (reportedly October 11).

Posted to the

, the leaked images give us our first glance at the second-generation BMW M2, which is set to go on sale in Europe in early 2023, with Australian deliveries to commence later next year.

The images show almost all angles of the new BMW M2, which will sit above the M240i xDrive in the new BMW 2 Series Coupe range, revealing how designers have played it safe and resisted employing the huge double kidney grille that adorns the front-end of both the M3 sedan and M4 coupe.

Instead, there's a pair of wider, squared-off kidney grilles that sit above a large air-dam flanked by a pair of additional square intakes.

Other revelations include wider front and rear quarter guards that hint at a significant increase in wheel tracks at both ends, chunky side sill extensions and a new dog bone-shaped rear bumper that incorporates vertical reflector and quad exhaust outlets within a prominent diffuser.

A subtle boot lip spoiler and a carbon-fibre roof can both also be seen in the images of this particular M2, which wears the M Zandvoort Blue paint colour that will be a hero hue for the new model.

It’s not been confirmed but it’s thought that BMW M’s smallest coupe rides on 19-inch wheels up front and larger 20-inch alloys at the rear.

Within the cabin it’s just possible to make out the new BMW M2’s optional M Carbon sport seats borrowed from the M4.

We already know that under the bonnet the next BMW M2 will bag BMW M's S58 twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine, in this case pumping out 338kW of power – 7kW more than the outgoing track-bred 331kW M2 CS.

Buyers will have the choice of either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.
