All-new 2024 Toyota bZ electric small SUV teased

Zero-emissions compact SUV to sit below mid-size bZ4X in Toyota’s expanding all-electric line-up

The all-new 2024 Toyota bZ Compact SUV has been teased ahead of its unveiling in the coming weeks, previewing a near-production version of the Japanese auto giant’s most affordable global EV that’s due to reach showrooms next year.

This is a different EV to the one shown at the 2022 LA motor show, which was widely regarded as a replacement for the popular Toyota C-HR.

Just as it already has a variety of models in the small SUV segment, Toyota will do the same with its EV range as it takes up the fight to models like the Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona.

The new model will sit below the Toyota bZ4X mid-size SUV due for release in Australia next year.

The bZ Compact SUV teased on X (formerly Twitter) is tipped to be unveiled at the Tokyo or LA motor shows next month, sizing up as larger than a Corolla Cross but smaller than a RAV4.

Powertrain details are still to be released, while some pundits have suggested the production version will be renamed bZ3.
