The all-new fourth-generation 2025 Bentley Continental GT has been previewed ahead of its official debut in June – and the British car-maker has confirmed the fast two-door will be the first recipient of its Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.
Seen in pictures showing a lightly camouflaged engineering prototype, the 2025 Bentley Continental GT features an evolution of the current car’s styling, retaining muscular rear wheel-arches and similar overall proportions.
Detail changes include redesigned twin headlights that replace the previous quad-lamp set-up, with the new car getting a speared-oval look to the lights, à la the Mulliner-designed Bentley Bacalar.
At the rear, a pair of slimmer tail-lights have been added, which also look Bacalar-inspired.
Under the bonnet, the current twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 has been pensioned off and in its place is a plug-in hybrid powertrain based on a V8 that will deliver a confirmed 575kW of power and a “four-figure” torque peak.
That’s 90kW more than the most-powerful W12 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which produced 485kW and 900Nm of torque.
Combined with a large battery and at least one electric motor, the new electrified V8-powered two-door will be capable of covering a WLTP-verified 80km on EV power alone.
We expect a 0-100km/h dash of around 3.0 seconds and a top speed nearing 340km/h.
Aiding the AWD Continental GT’s dynamic performance will be Bentley’s latest torque vectoring system, a new electronically-controlled limited-slip differential and four-wheel steering.
Finally, as far as chassis tech goes, the GT will also feature 48-volt-powered active anti-roll bars and dual-valve adaptive dampers, offering a better mix of control and comfort.
It’s thought the new PHEV not only replaces the W12 powertrain but also the non-hybrid twin-turbo V8 and will be available with the future Continental GTC cabriolet and Flying Spur limo.
Following its June debut, first deliveries of the 2025 Bentley Continental GT are expected to begin in Europe before the end of the year.
