Volvo has previewed its upcoming electric sedan ahead of the model’s global debut in March next year.
The first teaser of the 2025 Volvo ES90 was shown during the brand’s 90/90 Day media presentation and showcased a swooping four-door coupe silhouette crowned with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor.
Word is the model has been developed alongside the upcoming Volvo EX90 large SUV and will ride on the same ‘SPA2’ EV architecture and come equipped with a large 111kWh battery pack, pointing to peak power output of 380kW for the inevitable Performance halo.
A base rear-wheel drive model is expected to be available with 210kW offering up to 700km of range from a single charge.
The ES90 is tipped to measure in at 4990mm long, 1945mm wide and standing 1547mm tall, with a huge 3102mm wheelbase, liberating huge amounts of space within the cabin and matching larger luxury limousines despite being around 100mm shorter than the old S90.
Rivals will include the new Audi A6 e-tron, BMW i5 and Tesla Model S, With Australian examples expected to arrive sometime next year and be sourced from Chine as per the EX90 and related Polestar 3.
