The order book has today opened for the all-new sixth-generation 2024 Subaru Impreza, starting from $31,490 plus on-road costs.
First deliveries are due in December for the new Impreza small car, which will be offered in three model grades at launch – but only as a hatchback, with no sedan body style available globally.
The entry-level price applies to the 2.0L variant and marks a $4000 upswing from the current base 2.0i-L hatch.
The mid-range 2.0R will start from $34,990 plus ORCs, and the top-tier 2.0S is positioned another $3000 upstream (from $37,990), leaving plenty of room for the sportier Impreza 2.5 RS to materialise at a later date.
Underpinning the new Impreza is the same Subaru Global Platform and 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine as seen in the recently released Subaru Crosstrek small SUV.
The engine produces a class-competitive 115kW/196Nm and drives all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and symmetrical all-wheel drive system that has long served as the Impreza’s trump card within its segment.
Fuel consumption across the range is pegged at 7.5L/100km on the combined cycle, while CO2 emissions are rated at 170g/km. An automatic engine idle-stop system is fitted across the range.
Other standard equipment on the 2.0L includes 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, cloth seat upholstery, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring and an 11.6-inch infotainment system with wireless smartphone mirroring and a six-speaker stereo.
A wireless charging pad is also included.
Subaru EyeSight safety systems on-board include autonomous emergency braking (AEB), driver monitoring, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lake keeping system and traffic sign recognition.
The 2.0R steps things up with bigger 18-inch alloys, self-levelling and steering-responsive headlights, premium cloth upholstery, sports pedals, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a 360-degree camera and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and transmission lever.
At the top of the tree, the 2.0S adds leather trim, an electric sunroof, satellite navigation and a 10-speaker sound system.
The new Impreza will be available in seven colours across the board – Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Grey Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Pure Red, Oasis Blue, Sapphire Blue Pearl.
As with every other model in the Subaru Australia range, the new Impreza is covered by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
It has 15,000km/12-month servicing intervals, the cost of which varies between $346.76 and $771.74 across the first five years of ownership.
