Aston Martin and Italian styling studio Zagato have joined forces once more to create a new design study, based on the British sports car marque's Vanquish coupe.
Named the Vanquish Zagato Concept, the show car will premiere at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d-Este this weekend, on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.
Aston Martin and Zagato have previously worked together on four concept cars, starting with the DB4 GT Zagato of 1960.
The work for this latest car was shared between the Aston Martin design team led by Marek Reichman and the Milanese-based Zagato team with CEO Andrea Zagato at the helm.
"Over the years, we have developed and refined our own design language and we have always gone that little bit further with our special series cars like CC-100, One-77 and Aston Martin Vulcan," said Reichman, whose official title is Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer.
"The Vanquish Zagato Concept shows how our two companies can come together and push the definition of Aston Martin design."
Based around a body built in carbon-fibre, the Vanquish Zagato incorporates 'bladed' LED technology from the Vulcan track car for the round tail lights, and also features exterior mirror design seen in the One-77. The DB11's rear end was blended into the look of the concept car also, including a retractable spoiler and a tailgate for access to the luggage compartment.
Inside, the Vanquish Zagato is upholstered in aniline leather complemented by herringbone carbon-fibre and anodized bronze. Aston Martin has fettled the V12 to produce 600ps (441kW)
"We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and the creation of the Vanquish Zagato Concept was a true shared experience," said Zagato, "it represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over fifty years."
