Audi has released a video that previews its all-new, fifth-generation A6 sedan due on sale globally this year.
Unfortunately, the short video tease of the German car-maker's redesigned BMW 5 Series rival doesn't give much of the game away -- other than a quick glimpse of a chrome-clad grille that looks like it's been lifted from Audi's flagship A8 limousine, which arrives here mid-year.
Other dark and shadowy snapshots show off the A6's new A7-derived headlights, its side profile, door-handles and next-gen Virtual Cockpit digital dashboard.

The new A6 is set to make its public debut at the Geneva motor show next month, although Audi has announced we'll see more in the "coming days", which could mean an unveiling at a private event ahead of the Swiss show.
Based on the same MLB Evo platform as the latest A7 Sportback , which goes on sale around the same time as the new A6 in Australia later this year, Audi's newest sedan will come equipped with the car-maker's latest 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrains and Level 3 autonomous driving aids.

Under the bonnet a range of turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines will dominate, although the A7's powerful 250kW/500Nm 3.0-litre mild-hybrid turbo V6 is also set to star before an even more powerful S6 and new RS 6 Avant follow.
