Audi ups A6 value

Standard equipment upgrades for all Audi A6 models

Audi has increased the value equation for prospective buyers of its large A6 sedan, all versions of which now offer more standard equipment that Audi says is worth up to an extra $7900.

The S line exterior package, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and a reversing camera are now standard on all A6 models. In addition, the A6 is now available with a new Technik options package priced at $3000.

Apart from the S line exterior, xenon headlights and rear-view camera, the A6 2.0 TFSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel four-cylinder models come with 18-inch alloy wheels and Audi parking system plus.

The new Technik package for these models adds four-zone climate-control air-conditioning, a 360-degree top-view camera, sports steering wheel with paddle shifters, driver assistance features like active lane and side assist, DAB plus digital radio reception and folding exterior mirrors.

The six-cylinder models in the A6 range, the 2.8 FSI, 3.0 TDI, 3.0 TFSI and 3.0 TDI Biturbo, score all of the standard equipment in the four-cylinder models, plus four-zone climate-control and 19-inch alloys.

Similarly, the Technik pack for six-cylinder A6s includes all of the four-pot A6 options, plus LED headlights and an electric glass sunroof where not already fitted.

“We’re proud that the Audi A6 has received so many accolades in the two short years since its arrival in Australia,” said Audi Australia Managing Director, Andrew Doyle.

“With a broad range of powerful and efficient four- and six-cylinder engines, the Audi A6 naturally attracts customers who are looking to own a sophisticated executive sedan. With these additional features we are announcing, Audi’s progressive technology is well within their grasp.”

Pricing remains unchanged at base level, with the 2.0 TFSI multitronic continuing to open the A6 range at $77,900 plus on-road costs.

However, the 2.0 TDI multitronic is now $600 pricier at $79,500, while the 3.0 TFSI quattro increases to $115,300 (up $1300) and the 2.8 FSI quattro S tronic, 3.0 TDI quattro and 3.0 TDI Biturbo quattro tiptronic are all $900 more expensive at $91,900, $108,400 and $119,700 respectively.

The release of MY14 models follows price cuts of up to $9000 in January, to make room for the A6 Biturbo the following month.
