Genesis has unwrapped the new 2025 Genesis G80 Black, the model embracing its darker side ahead of its launch in Australia later this year.
Joining the GV80, GV80 Coupe SUV and the G90 limo that have all received the Black treatment, the new Genesis G80 Black mimics its siblings by ditching all its chrome elements for a black finish.
That explains the introduction of the new darker grille, intakes and bumper inserts, with even the winged Genesis badge blacked out.
The attention to detail even extends to the inner bezels of the lighting units and the ADAS radar cover.
Riding on 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels as standard that sport neat floating centre caps that mimic a Rolls-Royce Phantom’s, the only element to miss out on a lick of black paint is the GENESIS badging on the rear boot lid.
Within, and matching the exterior, the switchgear, paddle shifters, side sills, speaker covers, emblems and quilted leather seats are all finished in black.
Black Ash timber is also used as inserts throughout, while the latest G80 gets a widescreen 27-inch display that was recently introduced as part of the G80’s mid-life refresh and now boasts exclusive welcome and farewell animations.
Under the bonnet, the Genesis G80 now comes with the choice of either the 224kW 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder (2.5T) or a 279kW twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 (3.5T AWD)?.
Genesis has yet to confirm local pricing and specification for the Australian-market G80 Black, so it’s not known if it will be offered with the choice of powertrains.
Later on in 2025, as well as launching the new special G80 Black, Genesis Australia will debut an updated version of the Electrified G80 – the battery-powered version of the premium sedan.
Timing and full details for both models will be released in the coming months.
