Behind the scenes of the BYD Shark 6 launch

Take a look at a unique day in the life of a car reviewer

The BYD Shark 6 dual-cab ute has taken Australia by storm, arriving as the first plug-in hybrid dual-cab ute Down Under, with a sharp introductory price of $57,900 (plus ORCs).

And, the Chinese car company isn’t doing things by halves, flying us, along with high-ranking executives from China, into Broken Hill for the Shark 6’s local launch.

It was one night, glamping under the stars, with the extravagant launch at Mount Gipps Station near Broken Hill (NSW) live streamed internationally, while events were also held at BYD stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle, Adelaide and Perth.

In outback NSW, we were treated to a special rendition of ‘The Horses’ by iconic Aussie singer Daryl Braithwaite, who sang in front of star guests like Olympian Caroline Buchanan, AFL players Liam Baker and Kamdyn McIntosh, social media personality Lily Brown and The Inspired Unemployed’s Dom Littrich, Bill King, and Liam Moore.

Join Alexandra Lawrence as she navigates one of the strangest car launches ever seen.
