Buyers in the market for a new Skoda can look forward to standard Bluetooth connectivity on all Aussie-spec cars delivered August or later.
The company announced today that the feature, incorporating audio streaming and phone book facility, will be a standard inclusion for all models sold locally — without costing purchasers a cent.
“We’re pleased to offer this added convenience feature to our customers at no extra cost,” said Matthew Wiesner, Head of ŠKODA Australia.
Following in the footsteps of parent company Volkswagen, which recently added Bluetooth to the standard specification for its popular Golf model, Skoda has taken the idea significantly further. The mobile phone technology has even been adopted for Skoda's smallest car, the Fabia, a light segment vehicle only revealed to the Australian public two months ago, at AIMS in Melbourne. Upgrading the vehicle spec to include standard Bluetooth places the Fabia on an equal footing with Asian rivals in the market — something the Czech brand had promised it would do.
“Our Škoda range of vehicles already comes standard with a comprehensive safety package and clever ŠKODA features. Now, with the addition of Bluetooth® phone connectivity, our ŠKODA range offers an affordable and competitive convenience package as well,” said Wiesner.
