carsales and Ford launch Ultimate Test Drive

Want to test drive an all-new Focus and win it? Read on...

carsales.com.au and Ford Australia have joined forces to give you the chance to win an all-new top-of-the-range Ford Focus Titanium TDCi.

To be launched today under the Ford Focus Ultimate Test Drive banner, the competition will see a small group of carsales visitors get the opportunity to drive a new Focus for an extended period, tell everyone about their experiences, and potentially win the competition -- and keep the car!

The competition and the user generated content that it will prompt is the key online campaign of the all-new Focus' local launch. The promotion builds on the concept Ford USA used to launch the Fiesta stateside in 2010.

carsales.com.au visitors can find all the details about how the enter the competition at our dedicated Ford Focus Ultimate Test Drive site. Essentially, however, your first step along the way is to provide us with a video or written review about anything you are passionate about – whether it's your pride and joy in the garage or simply that old pair of socks with which you can't bear to part.

Your review will be judged by a panel of experts from Ford Australia and its agencies and from the results we'll select 12 finalists who will each be given the use of a turbodiesel Focus Titanium for six weeks. During that time they will be set tasks to complete in the Focus and more blogging challenges.

The Carsales Network audience will then vote using Facebook 'likes' to determine the best Focus blogger and the winner gets to keep his or her Titanium TDCi.

Centred on strong involvement from you our audience the Ford Focus Ultimate Test Drive campaign breaks new ground in the local new car space.

"The all-new Ford Focus raises the bar for Australian consumers by putting a world of intuitive technology, dynamic design and advanced performance at the tip of a finger," Ford Australia General Manager Marketing, David Katic stated at the competition's roll out this morning.

"Finding a new car that suits your needs can be a difficult process. By partnering with Australia's number one automotive website carsales.com.au for the Focus Ultimate Test Drive program, we're giving Australians the chance to get behind the wheel and test the difference in a car that we believe ticks all the boxes," he stated.

The Focus Ultimate Test Drive campaign commences today (May 20) and will run through until August 19, 2011. The all-new Focus official goes on sale on August 1.
