There’s a new entry-level Mercedes-Benz C-Class on the way in the form of the C 200 Night Edition – a dressed-up mid-size luxury sedan fitted with a range of AMG-Line exterior bits and some premium cabin appointments.
Carrying a list price of $86,900 plus on-road costs but temporarily available (if ordered by June 30 and delivered by July 31) from just $89,900 drive-away, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C 200 Night Edition comes as standard with the Night Package (black exterior trim, AMG-Line bumpers) and rolls on unique 19-inch alloy wheels.
The stealthier aesthetic is complemented inside the Night Edition’s cabin by a premium Burmester 3D surround sound system and heat/noise-insulating glass for the windscreen and front windows.
The rest of the car’s equipment list reads the same as the standard C 200’s, meaning customers will still get the headline 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 11.9-inch portrait MBUX infotainment interface, head-up display, heated and power adjustable front seats, ARTICO upholstery, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and DAB+ digital radio.
All the usual safety suspects and driver aids – 10 airbags, Pre-Safe accident anticipation, radar cruise control, Active Parking Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Traffic Sign Assist, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, etc – are present too.
Under the bonnet is an unchanged 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine still developing 150kW/300Nm, sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
“With significant extra equipment added to an already compelling package plus an astonishing driveaway price, the new Mercedes-Benz C 200 Night Edition presents buyers with an outstanding opportunity,” said Mercedes-Benz.
“A raft of added appointments makes an even stronger case for one of the cornerstone models in the Mercedes-Benz passenger car range.”
