Kia Australia has made good on its promise and added two more hybrid Carnival variants to its local line-up for the 2026 model year.
Revealed in an industry pricing guide circulated this week, the 2025 Kia Carnival S HEV ($56,100) and Sport+ HEV ($68,330) boost the number of hybrid Carnivals from one to three and mean three of the five local trims now have the option of an electrified powertrain.
As per the top-spec GT-Line HEV, the powertrain in question is a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol-electric set-up good for 180kW/366Nm with a claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 5.8L/100km.
Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed automatic with drive sent exclusively to the front wheels.
Beyond a couple of hybrid-specific graphics and displays, the new hybrids match their petrol and diesel counterparts in terms of equipment levels to the letter, with the same true of the entire MY26 portfolio which has increased in price by several hundred dollars.
The range now opens at $50,570 plus on-road costs for the base Carnival S petrol and tops out at $76,630 for the aforementioned GT-Line HEV, though Kia execs have confirmed the specification of every variant is identical to the MY25 versions.
A full pricing breakdown of the expanded range can be found below.
Cheaper Sorento hybrids are expected to arrive in the coming months too, now Kia HQ has freed up supply for our market as the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) prepares to issue credits and penalties as of July 1.
