Mercedes-Benz has lowered the price of admission for its top-selling C-Class with the introduction of a special-edition C 200 that costs $1000 less and includes more equipment and on-road costs.
Priced at $60,900 drive-away and available until May 31, the Mercedes-Benz C 200 Edition C sedan adds an electric glass sunroof, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto smartphone integration, metallic paint (excluding designo colours) and 19-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels.

These features are in addition to standard C 200 items such as ARTICO upholstery, a 7.0-inch colour display with touchpad control and media interface, satellite-navigation, digital radio, electric front seat adjustment, keyless start, THERMATIC dual-zone climate-control, black piano lacquer and brushed aluminium trim, rain-sensing wipers and LED headlights.
There are no changes to the C 200 sedan’s 135kW/300Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or nine-speed automatic transmission.

The cut-price, up-specced C 200 arrives less than four months before the release of the facelifted C-Class, which hits Australian showrooms in August and will comprise a revised C 200 entry model with 1.5 turbo-petrol mild-hydrid powertrain and an upgraded C 43 4MATIC sedan.
The mainstream 2018 C-Class range will be followed by facelifted C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet models, and upgraded C 63 AMGs.
The Edition C and upcoming facelift are sure to spur even more sales of the four-year-old, fourth-generation W205 C-Class, which has long been Australia’s top-selling luxury car.
