Looking for something a little unusual? Just 20 units of the C4 Citroen Cactus Black Special Edition small SUV have been secured for Australia, priced at $30,990 drive-away.
Adding a little 'black ops' cool to the quirky French compact SUV, the special-edition C4 Cactus has a 'murdered out' look with black on black everywhere.
Although the price is $1000 more than the regular C4 Cactus model, Citroen Australia says it adds almost $4000 worth of extras including a panoramic glass roof, combination cloth/leatherette seat trim, grey leather-covered dashboard, black 17-inch alloy wheels and One-Tone badging.
Other standard equipment includes a 7.0 touch-screen infotainment system with sat-nav, reversing camera and sensors, digital radio, automatic headlights, climate control, airbump body protection and an 8.5-litre top box.
There are no changes to the C4 Cactus’ 81kW/205Nm 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Last year just 190 customers took delivery of the Citroen C4 Cactus, making it one of the least popular (and most exclusive) compact SUVs in Australia – although it did find more homes than the Suzuki Jimny (101 sales).
Citroen is a minnow in the Australian car market with a cumulative total of only 735 vehicle sales in 2017. The small Berlingo commercial van was its highest selling model with 266 units.
To help boost sales of its latest C3, which has morphed from hatchback to SUV and was released in Australia last October, Citroen Australia is now offering drive-away pricing for the cheeky French crossover.
The C3 is now pegged at $23,990 drive-away nationwide for the foreseeable future, representing better value than its previous price of $22,990 plus on-road costs.
