Citroen freshens up C4 Picasso
Both C4 Picasso and C4 Grand Picasso get mild nose job, two-tone colour option, hands-free tailgateCitroen’s C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso people-movers have received a mid-life tweak for 2016.
The first facelift for both Picasso models since their release in 2013 brings tweaked front-end styling including a new bumper. The new look is now shared with both models. At the rear of the cars there are new '3D effect' tail-lights, plus new 17-inch wheels.
Exterior revisions extend to a new two-tone coloured roof, the introduction of three new body colours and the new option of silver-painted roof bars.
Inside, there’s an updated touch-screen infotainment system that includes Citroen’s Connect Nav with 3D maps and voice recognition technology.
Other new tech that joins the line-up is a new hands-free tailgate, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system and driver fatigue detection.
In Europe, there’s the new option of an 81kW version of Citroen's little turbocharged 1.2-litre PureTech engine.
The more powerful 96kW 1.2-litre turbo, meanwhile, will be available with a six-speed automatic gearbox for the first time.
In Australia, the C4 Picasso is currently available in five-seat 1.6-litre diesel and seven-seat 2.0-litre diesel guises, both in Exclusive spec with six-speed automatic transmission.
Upgraded versions of both models aren't due on sale here until early 2017, and at this stage it's unknon whether there will be mechanical changes. In Europe prices rise by around $2000.
