One of the sales winners in 2020 has been the MG3. As word has spread about the little Chinese hatchback’s great value, sales have soared by over 1700 units, from 2412 to the end of August last year, to 4138 sales for this year, so far.
The importer is determined to keep that sales momentum rolling along, now offering the 2020 MG3 Excite automatic for just $18,690 on the road. That’s just $200 more than the usual manufacturer’s retail list price – with the importer freeing the buyer of registration, stamp duty and compulsory third-party insurance. And the car still comes with MG’s seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Buyers looking for something a little larger, something a little more ‘commercial’, will undoubtedly home in on another generous offer, this one available for the Mitsubishi Triton GLX-R 4x4 dual-cab with automatic transmission.
This variant of Triton is normally priced at $44,490 before the on-road costs, but Mitsubishi is shipping it out for $42,490 on the road. That’s a $2000 discount, and free on-road costs included. On top of that, Mitsubishi is throwing in three years of free scheduled servicing and an extended warranty – up to seven years or 150,000km.
For buyers looking to purchase a family wagon, there’s the Hyundai Tucson Active X front-wheel drive with petrol engine and automatic transmission. The manufacturer’s retail list price for this variant of Tucson is $35,140, but Hyundai is currently offering it at a drive-away price of $34,990 with a $1500 bonus. So the price itself is reduced $150, Hyundai is paying the registration, stamp duty and compulsory third-party insurance, and there’s the $1500 bonus to cap it all.
