Deal hunter: Six months’ free finance for Nissan X-TRAIL

Plus free servicing for Isuzu MU-X, discounted drive-away pricing for Volkswagen Crafter and cash-back incentive for MG3

Buyers in the market for a medium SUV are going to find it hard to walk past the latest offer from Nissan Australia and its finance arm.

Currently, the importer is offering the Nissan X-TRAIL range with discounted pricing, including the on-road costs, plus three years of free servicing thrown in, and here’s the icing on the cake: the first six months of loan repayments will be paid by Nissan Financial Services, based on a 48-month term at five per cent interest.

As an example of the way this would play out, a Nissan X-TRAIL ST 4WD auto – normally priced at $34,040 before the statutory on-road costs – could be driven out of the showroom for as little as $32,990 under the Nissan Future Value program. The buyer would pay nothing for the first six months, but would then pay the loan repayments of $439.08 each month and a final payment of $17,000, which is equal to the ‘pre-approved future value’ of the vehicle.

If you still like the X-TRAIL after four years, you can keep it for the one-off $17,000 payment, or hand it back to Nissan Financial Services in exchange for $17,000, plus or minus any adjustment for excess kilometers and any damage beyond normal wear and tear. The total amount payable over the four-year term works out at $38,075.84, which is not much more than the cash amount of the full list price you would pay upfront for the car, after adding the on-road costs. Add in the free servicing as well, and the X-TRAIL buyer will be ahead of the pack.

The MG3 Excite automatic is currently on sale for $18,690 drive-away. That’s just $200 more than its manufacturer’s retail list price (MRLP) of $18,490, and covers not only the on-road costs, but also comes with a $555 cash-back rebate, plus an MG gift pack, valued at $80.

Isuzu Ute dealers are welcoming buyers into the showroom with at least a couple of grand off the Isuzu MU-X LS-U 4X4. The normal MRLP for this variant of MU-X is $53,600, but the importer has slashed the price to $50,990, including the on-road costs and with the bonus of scheduled servicing for two years.

Finally, the Volkswagen Crafter is the subject of a special offer drive-away price of $45,990. That’s $3300 off the MRLP ($49,290), not to mention the savings represented by the on-road costs that are born by the importer. The variant in question is the Volkswagen Crafter 35 TDI340 MWB Runner van with manual transmission.
