Name and interior of new seven-seat Kia SUV revealed – 3D printing to play a big partKia has revealed the inside of its new Telluride SUV concept ahead of its public launch tonight at the 2016 Detroit motor show, hinting at a new large SUV that puts a priority on "health and wellness technology".
First teased at last week's CES technology exhibition in Las Vegas, the all-new large SUV concept is now confirmed to go by the Telluride name, which suggests that autonomous driving technology could also form a core tenet of the car's pitch.
The cabin of the Kia Telluride features vastly simplified controls and instrument panel, appearing to feature photosensitive heating/cooling controls and two large LCD screens covering instrumentation and infotainment respectively.
Even the steering wheel controls have been paired back and streamlined for ease of use.
It's not yet clear what the 'health and wellness technology' element of the Kia's interior will encompass or whether it will include innovative technology (not just a cleverly named seat massage function), but the company says Telluride concept will highlight "Kia’s first use of 3D-printed components, which add a distinct, modern design element to the dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel."
