Chrysler claims that its Dodge Journey, revised for 2012, is the most powerful people mover in Australia.
The secret to the power grab is the Pentastar V6, which now powers the Journey R/T as well as the lower-grade Journey SXT, and also meets the Euro V emissions standard. Among other changes for the new model year the Journey sports a mild facelift, comprising restyled front and rear fascias, LED tail lights, dual exhausts in bright finish and a new grille.
Inside, the improvements are more extensive, starting with a new dash and revised interior trim. Chrysler's press material describes the new instrument binnacle as a "premium instrument cluster with centre colour TFT display", and the Journey SXT also gains four-way lumbar adjustment for the driver's seat, Uconnect Touch multimedia audio systems, voice command/Bluetooth, remote USB port and keyless start.
Journey R/T upgrades to an 8.4-inch touch screen for the audio system and satellite navigation, six premium speakers with a subwoofer, 368-Watt amplifier, nine-inch video screen for the second-row seat, wireless headphones, reversing camera, rear parking sensors and a rechargeable torch.
