Drive-away pricing for RAM pick-ups

American Special Vehicles, local distributor for fully-ADR-compliant RAM trucks, has announced a new pricing structure for the 2500 and 3500 models, absorbing on-road costs for the converted, Chrysler-sourced products.

In a press release issued last week, the importer stated that the drive-away pricing deals for the RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks would be a short-term offer only, available through the 25 dealers around the country already selling the brand.

The importer – a joint venture between Ateco Automotive and the Walkinshaw Automotive Group – has kept the total on-road price at the same manufacturer's list price published at launch: $139,500 for the RAM 2500 and $146,500 for the RAM 3500.

Both variants are powered by the same 6.7-litre Cummins turbo-diesel six-cylinder, rated at 1084Nm and driving through a six-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. Towing capacity is 6989kg for the RAM 2500 and 6170kg for the RAM 3500.

Imported in left-hand drive form, the vehicles are run down Walkinshaw's dedicated production line in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton, where the vehicles are 'remanufactured' in right-hand drive form. They comply with all ADRs (Australian Design Rules) and have full-volume import approval. A three-year/100,000km warranty applies.

Standard equipment consists of reverse-parking sensors, reversing camera, tyre-pressure monitoring, keyless entry, leather upholstered seats with heating and ventilation in the front, plus 10-way electric adjustment for the driver and six-way electric adjustment for the front passenger's seat. A multi-function leather-bound steering wheel features is complemented by dual-zone climate control, tinted power windows, a 20cm infotainment touch screen, nine-speaker audio system and Bluetooth connectivity.
