It’s been a busy week for BMW, which is now teasing the bristling new BMW M4 CSL every day until its reveal this Saturday (May 21) and has just previewed an updated version of its iconic BMW 3 Series sedan overnight via Twitter and Instagram.
The darkened teaser video is shot entirely from the front, showing little more than the updated grille and lighting signature, and flashes words ‘coming soon’ but there’s nothing to indicate exactly how soon.
In terms of the styling changes, the daytime running lights have been inverted from the bottom of the headlight clusters to the top – as seen in previous leaks – while the twin kidney grille looks to have been widened with a bigger gap between the kidneys, as per the last F30 generation.

There’s very little else to see in the seven-second teaser clip, however, we can be reasonably sure the interior will be treated to a fitting redesign and possibly even adopt the new dual-screen infotainment/cockpit combination as seen on the all-electric BMW i3 sedan.
In addition to being a whole lot more modern-looking, the dual-screen arrangement also helps tidy up and streamline the rest of the dashboard with far fewer buttons and controls.
The China-specific model also gives us a glimpse at what we can expect from the new exterior; namely more chiselled front and rear fascias, revamped body contouring and a narrower but taller air intake.
With the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class now having launched globally, some tweaks under the 3 Series’ skin have also likely been made to keep the Bavarian offering competitive with its newer arch-rival.
The familiar engine line-up and 330i, 330i, 330e and M340i xDrive variants will likely be carried over untouched, not to mention the ballistic M3.
Speaking of the flagship, the long-awaited BMW M3 Touring will make its global debut next month – after the rabid BMW M4 CSL has its time in the limelight this weekend.
