The updated 2024 LDV D90 large SUV has landed in Australian showrooms, with entry into the Chinese brand’s three-row SUV range now starting from $43,147 drive-away, or $40,990 for ABN holders.
The revised pricing marks a $4210 increase for the base model, while the flagship twin-turbo diesel has been axed from the line-up entirely, leaving a trio of petrol-powered variants.
Still powered by a 2.0-litre turbo engine, the updated D90 now delivers 184kW/410Nm—a 19kW/60Nm improvement—and comes fitted with a new eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous six-speed unit.
The extra power boosts the petrol models’ braked towing capacity from 2000kg to a more competitive 3000kg; however, this figure remains below the segment benchmark of 3500kg and the outgoing diesel’s 3100kg capability.
Elsewhere, the new model is said to be more efficient, with LDV quoting a combined usage of 9.1L/100km for 2WD versions and 9.4L/100km for the 4WD, down from 10.2L and 10.8L/100km, respectively.
LDV says a diesel version of the updated D90 is under evaluation for Australia but has not yet been approved, with only limited stock of the pre-update model remaining.
Highlights on the entry-level D90 Mode 2WD include 18-inch alloy wheels, a full-size spare, bi-LED headlights, LED tail-lights, adaptive cruise control, leather-appointed seats, multi-zone climate control, a pair of 12.3-inch displays, smartphone mirroring, and an integrated dashcam.
Standard safety inclusions comprise six airbags, rain-sensing wipers, lane-keep assist with departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear exit assist, driver fatigue monitoring, tyre pressure monitoring, hill-hold assist, a reverse camera, front and rear parking sensors, and more.
The Executive trim - offered in 2WD or 4WD - adds a sunroof, powered tailgate, dual wireless smartphone charging, ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel with height and reach adjustment, tinted rear windows, and eight-way electric adjustment for the driver’s seat.
The 4WD version also features LDV’s latest 4x4 system, which includes crawl control, locking centre and rear differentials, as well as terrain-specific selectable drive modes.
All these upgrades and enhancements are reflected in the D90’s aggressive new exterior, an 84mm increase in width, and a 41mm increase in length.
Every LDV D90 is covered by a seven-year/200,000km warranty, with five years of roadside assist included for some models.
The first service is due at six months or 5000km, followed by routine maintenance every 12 months or 10,000km.
