Nissan has released the first official teaser of an upcoming facelift for the 2024 Nissan QASHQAI, posting a video on its social media channels previewing some of the changes in store for the small SUV.
Unlikely to bring significant mechanical changes, the mid-life update for the Nissan QASHQAI will largely focus on the exterior design and cabin technology.
Styling-wise, there’s a new split lighting signature above a now-frameless grille and redesigned bumper.
Inside, the video briefly shows a revised widescreen infotainment unit with Google app icons, suggesting the QASHQAI will score new Android-based operating software.
Expect a variety of other minor changes to be wrought on the cabin, although no new features are apparent with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster or steering wheel.
The current Nissan QASHQAI is powered by 110kW/250Nm 1.3-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine or a more efficient and powerful 140kW/330Nm 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol-electric e-POWER hybrid.
The QASHQAI has been a respectable seller for Nissan since the latest series launched in 2021, although it’s currently only in 10th position in the fast-growing small SUV segment.
It’s improving, however, and after the first quarter of this year stands as Nissan’s fourth-best-selling model behind the bigger X-TRAIL, Navara and Patrol.
The facelifted QASHQAI will be revealed on April 17, ahead of an anticipated Australian launch in the second half of this year.
